Common Mistakes Made by Equipment Owners in Kuwait

Article 11 of 14Englishالنسخة العربية

Introduction

Many equipment owners do not lose money because the market is weak; they lose because daily management is weak. Heavy equipment is an expensive asset, and small decisions in pricing, maintenance, operation, or collection affect its value and return.

Pricing mistakes

The first mistake is pricing only by “market rate” without knowing cost. If you do not calculate diesel, operator, depreciation, maintenance, transport, and downtime, you may think you are earning while consuming the machine. The second mistake is accepting a far-away client at a low rate without calculating lowbed or travel time.

Operation mistakes

Sending equipment without pre-job photos, not recording working hours, not monitoring the operator, accepting work unsuitable for the machine, and delaying maintenance until failure. In Kuwait, heat and dust multiply the effect of neglected filters, oils, and cooling systems.

Collection mistakes

Late invoicing, no contract, relying only on WhatsApp calls, and not defining payment date. A good client is not only the one who gives a high rate; it is the one who pays clearly and on time.
